Quality of life in patients with malignant lymphomas at different time-points after autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

The goal of the study was to evaluate quality of life changes in patients with malignant lymphoma in different time-points after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The vast majority of patients reported quality of life treatment response as improvement or stabilization after the BMT/HSCT.

Only 19 % of patients within 12 months and 10 % of patients at follow-up experienced decrease in their quality of life. Tumor response and quality of life treatment response coincided not in all the cases. This fact emphasizes the importance of comprehensive assessment of the efficacy of BMT/HSCT in this patient's cohort.

Quality of life monitoring in patients with malignant lymphomas at short-term and long-term post transplant periods provides clinicians with the unique information regarding the trajectory of changes in physical, psychological and social well-being at different terms after transplantation.
