Quality of life research in young people with comorbid functional pathology

The study was devoted to quality of life assessment in young people with manifestations of neurocirculatory dystonia and related functional disorders of the digestive system (functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, biliary dyskinesia and "overlap syndrome").

For this goal 305 persons from organized student population were surveyed using the Quality of Life Questionnaire "SF-36 Health Status Survey" (SF-36). The greatest decrease of integral psychological component of quality of life was shown in all groups of patients with comorbid functional pathology as compared with the degree of reduction of the integral component of physical health.

The maximum decrease in quality of life was typical for persons with irritable bowel syndrome and «overlap syndrome» of the digestive system's functional pathology combined with neurocirculatory dystonia. The main lifestyle factors that positively and negatively affect on the indices of life quality of surveyed category of persons are listed.
