Clinical peculiarities of chronic gastritis in children: association with quality of life
According to modern concepts, most cases of chronic gastritis caused by infection of H.pylori. Later H.pylori strains were identified with different virulent. The clinical course of a disease associated with «cytotoxic» (CagA- positive strains of H. pylori) have been studied in several studies.
This paper presents the results of a study of clinical features 6o children with chronic Helicobacter gastritis, of which 32 children were infected with CagA- positive and 28 children CagA- negative strains of microbes, the comparison group consisted of 30 children suffering from gastritis infectious nature.
As a research tool used in traditional assessment of complaints and medical history evaluated using a specially designed questionnaire. Additionally, to investigate the quality of life questionnaire was used PedsQLtm4.0. Found that to the peculiarities of the clinical course of gastritis associated with CagA- positive strains of H. pylori, include asymptomatic course, with a smaller average number of symptoms per patient and dominated in the clinical picture of pain , at a lower frequency of dyspeptic complaints. Quality of life was lower in children infected with H. pylori, regardless of the strain of the pathogen.
