Quality of life study of population of Dakhadaev region in Dagestan Republic using the SF-36 questionnaire

There were studied the life quality population indices of the population of Dakhadayevsky District of Republic of Dagestan. The basic excerpts included 2,211 people, including 1,259 women and 952 men aged 18 -90 years old. Respondents were divided into 3 age groups (up to 35 years, 35 – 50 years and 50 years and older).

The study was performed using the questionnaire SF-36 in accordance with the requirements of the International Project of Quality of Life Estimation o (PQLE). The highest life quality population indices of the population of Dakhadayevsky District of Republic of Dagestan detected on the scale of social functioning (76,3), the lowest one – on the scale of the general health (58,5). In general, with age there is a decrease in life quality among both male and female population.

For all this the most significant changes in indices of quality of life affected the scale of role of physical functioning – with age value of the index is reduced by 33%. Minimal differences (10%) in the age groups were observed on the scale of social functioning and mental health.

A comparison of the life quality of Dakhadayevsky District of Republic of Dagestan with those indices in the cities of St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. Values of the life quality for a number of scales of questionnaire for population of Dakhadayevsky District of Republic of Dagestan slightly higher than in St. Petersburg. On scales of physical functioning and role-physical functioning there was a slight decrease compared to St. Petersburg. At the same time, all indices of the life quality of the population of the investigated area exceed those in Novosibirsk, which may be associated with more severe climatic conditions of Siberia, generally unfavorable to man.
