Quality of life assessment in cardiovascular patients during cardiorehabilitation

The presented data demonstrate quality of life (QoL) improvement in cardiovascular patients involved into short- and long-term rehabilitation programmes. Рatients who were involved into short-term (in-patient) walking-sessions had the 6-minute walk tolerance increase, anxiety decrease, and QoL improvement in terms of physical functioning, social functioning, and vitality. QoL improvement correlated with 6-minute walk tolerance increase. Patients who were recruited into 6-month aerobic treadmill and aqua-training pro gramme had decrease of Body Mass Index, waist circumference and anxiety. In spite of absence of 6-minute tolerance changes, patients reported QoL increase in terms of physical functioning, vitality, emotional and social functioning and general health.
