Quality of life peculiarities in women during postmenopause period

We aimed to study quality of life in postmenopause women with different climacteric disorders. In total, 453 women aged 40–65 were included in the study. For quality of life assessment RAND SF-36 questionnaire was used. Peculiarities of physical, psychological and social functioning of women with climacteric syndrome in postmenopause, women with urogenital menopause syndrome, women with osteoporosis, women in menopausal transition, women with low secretion of melatonin and women with normal level of melatonin were revealed. Women with urogenital menopause syndrome and women with low secretion of melatonin have the lowest physical function ing and role emotional functioning. Social functioning significantly lower in women with climacteric syndrome in postmenopause and in women with low secretion of melatonin as compared to women in other groups. The highest level of physical functioning was revealed in women with normal level of melatonin; the highest level of role physical functioning — in women in menopausal transition. Mental health parameters were similar in women in all groups.
